Was I hired to stand in the way of health care reform?

Hi, I’m Andy and I did all the damage I could being a spokesjerk for Blue Cross Blue Shield. Now it’s time to move on to the next hugely irresponsible, profit-driven monopoly. Tell me where I should work next: facebook.com NOTE: You must be logged in to Facebook and be a fan of the Sick for Profit Page in order to leave a message telling us where Andy should work next. Thanks!

  1. Do you think its a problem that your insurance premium is also covering the cost of uninsured people getting “free” care at emergency rooms?

  2. Taxes are going to be here till you die. I advocate that instead of the govt spending tax $ on blowing up people in other countries we spend it on the health of our citizens. Jesus said very little about govt other than render unto C
esar what is Cesar’s. Yet I wonder what he would think of insurance companies profiting from the sick? The constitution does say it is the role of the govt to provide for the general welfare of the citizens which would include health.

  4. Are you trying to tell me that the Govt doesn’t demand payment for your healthcare. In fact Govt demands the money of everyone else for your health care. I believe in the individual. You believe in the drone. Jesus believed in charity not in forced Govt mandates. It is not the Governments job to provide insurance for people’s healthcare. It isn’t constitutional and therefore it isn’t lawful. That’s why Obamacare will see it’s day in the Supreme Court

  5. We don’t live in bubbles, the health of your fellow citizen can and does effect you. Your screen name references Jesus, are you a Christian? If so do you think your attitude reflects Jesus? I read the new testament and I dont remember reading about Jesus demanding payment after he healed the sick. Funny how things and ideas can become a little muddled after 2,000 years.

  6. “health care is not the right of citizens it’s an individual decision” Ok so someone has an infectious, contagious disease but doesn’t have hc so they end up going untreated and spread it among others. or they go to the ER and skip out on the $5,000 bill. The hospital loses this money and in order to recoup loses it raises its prices which causes your insurance premium to go up. Or the govt helps pay for it anyway so it comes out of your taxes.

  7. I don’t pay my entire health care cost out of pocket. I have private insurance. And if I want to change to a different provider I have the freedom to do so. If I don’t want to have any insurance then i have the freedom to do so. I accept responsibility for what happens to me. Healthcare is not a right of the citizens. It’s an individual decision.

  8. yeah but can you afford to pay your entire health care cost out of pocket? probably not so i don’t understand the point of this question

  9. Your insurace is made up of some money you put in but mostly money that other people have put in. So someone else’s money helps cover some of the cost of your healthcare.

  10. “I’m not a slave of the state like you” Lol .yeah you’re not in any way dependent on the state that subsidizes the gas you put in your car, builds the roads you drive on, makes sure the water you drink doesn’t have chemicals in it, makes sure you don’t die in a midair collision if you fly on a plane, provides you with police protection, a fire dept, EMS vehicles. yep you do it all alone

  11. my insurance pays for my healthcare. I pay for the rest out of pocket. I’m not a slave of the state like you

  12. No. I got my insurance knowing that it doesn’t cover the entire cost of my healthcare.

  13. You still didn’t answer my question. Do you think your insurance premium covers the entire cost of your healthcare?

  14. oh i find those unconstitutional..unfortunately it’s a mess that you can’t clean up over night. sorry you love being suckled. Personally i find it disgusting that people take money out of my paycheck to take care of me when i retire as if i’m some child who can’t take care of his own finances.

  15. So when you buy insurance you think your $100 a month covers the cost of a hip replacement or cancer treatment God forbid you ever need those? Perhaps you would like to see an end to Medicare and Medicaid. How about social security? These aren’t in the constitution.

  16. My Constitution gives Congress the responsibility to provide for a military. It doesnot give Congress the responsibility to provide for my health care. That is my responsibility and I find it insulting that someone else would pay to cover my medical expenses. I’m glad you enjoy your nanny state. I enjoy my liberty. Keep your socialized healthcare

  17. Is everyone stupid??Blue Cross, what a monopoly against Americans! Helping doctors and hospitals getting rich in this “Rich and Poor society!”

  18. Um.. the french government is a republic just like ours, except we don’t let professional politicians control our personal decisions. You might want to look into all the perfectly good, beneficial medicines you can’t get, just because the right palm hasn’t been greased. Here, the people can vote with their wallet.

My appendix was taken out orthoscopically. Three little slits around the abdomen, no sitches even.

  19. you heard on Fox news (organization payed by insurance cie to lie for them), you can say what you want about us, but in France, unlike you, we, the people, control our government.
the people should never be afraid of their government.
its The government that should be afraid of the people.

  20. What can I say to such an ignorant fool like yourself, our doctors live in condos ? Is that what you think ? I don’t know where you live but just stay there and don’t move. I lived in the states and in France 50/50 and I’m 33, doctors in France make just as much money as doctors in US, you really need to pull your head of your ass, you got a lot coming to you.
    good luck

  21. “about 10 thousand dollars in your country”
Um, it would cost me about the same out of pocket. I had my appendix taken out and a cost to me of only $300.00
We have these things called insurance companies, that keep the cost at time of need down, but the business of medicine still profitable. That’s why we have doctors worthy of having swimming pools and cars, and yours aren’t.

  22. ” we give you what you need”
No, you get what they can afford, which isn’t much. That’s why our medical tourism trade is soo much bigger than yours. i’d rather get that cancer taken care of now, at a cost to me, than a year from now when it’s too late.
There are worse things than expensive healthcare. Oppressive government
